ABOUT THE TOPIC:
A reputed Chinese proverb says, "May you live
in interesting times." Whether we wished for it or not, interesting
times are upon us. In recent months, Bear Stears, Lehman Brothers,
Merrill Lynch, WAMU and Wachovia have disappeared. Freddie Mac, Fannie
Mae and AIG are now in the hands of the government. And the reshaping of America is not
yet over. In the coming months, all the major banks and hundreds of smaller
banks will receive a Washington bear hug; hedge funds may fall; and more companies will fail or merge.
These historic and turbulent times will affect every business, every
investor and every individual.
We invite you to a special discussion of the current
economic crisis and the opportunities that may lie in the turmoil. We
will examine questions such as:
-
Should we have seen this economic crisis coming ? If so, how ?
-
How can we navigate the current economic crisis ?
-
What opportunities are there for businesses, investors and individuals in the
midst of this crisis ?
-And how does the current economic crisis affect opportunities with and in China ?
A question and answer section shall then follow.
We encourage entrepreneurs, angel and venture
capital investors, and all others to come.
Be sure to bring your business cards.
